RioFest Environmental Film Festival

About Us

The RioFest International Film Festival is a 501-3C non-profit entity established in 2007 under the fiscal sponsorship of The Friends of the Bosque.

Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge is located about 15 miles south of Socorro, and approximately 75 miles south of Albuquerque. It is open year-round to the public and is home to a wide variety of plant and wildlife species native to the area, but is best known for "The Festival of the Cranes" held annually in November.

The RioFest Board of Directors is made up of a cross section of community members, all sharing an interest in both film and environmental issues.

The local directors are supported by an advisory board comprised of people from across New Mexico with expertise in various areas of filmmaking and event planning.

RioFest was established as an effort to promote environmental awareness and appreciation through film.
