RioFest films are screened through a unique democratic method, just one of many elements that make RioFest Environmental Film Festival a pioneering standout among its festival counterparts. Every film is decided on by majority rule by a committee of filmmakers and environmentalists. The mantra of 'by environmentalists, for environmentalists' resounds at every level of the organization.
